Our team attended the 2019 American Music Therapy Association Conference in November 2019. The conference was held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and provided each music therapist with opportunities for continuing education, networking, and presenting! DMS was also part of the Internship Fair, and two music therapists (Jennifer Pinson and Kathy Ryan) presented in their areas of expertise.

Originally from St. Louis, Lauren began studying music at the age of nine with classical violin and piano. She was actively involved in orchestra and private lessons growing up and discovered the profession of music therapy in high school. Lauren earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy and a Minor in Psychology from the University of Dayton in 2017.
Devanne is originally from Cleveland, Ohio. Devanne began developing her love for music early in life when she began to study percussion and found her passion particularly for playing marimba while taking lessons, being a part of a competitive marching band and indoor drumline in high school. Devanne wanted to find a career path where she could share her passion for music while also helping

Music Therapy Group Sessions: These sessions occur in the community, such as a church, day program, business partnership, therapist home, etc. Can contract with local businesses as well The sessions are typically 45-60 minutes Groups on the Medicaid Waiver contain 2-4 participants Group sessions can have more than 4 members in other facilities and through private pay
Music Therapy 1:1 Sessions: These sessions can occur in the home or at a space such as a day program, church, etc. arranged by Dynamic Music Therapy and/or the consumer Can contract with local businesses as well The sessions typically last between 30-60 minutes Medicaid Waiver, private pay, possibly insurance, etc. Time for documentation will be added for the Medicaid
